Man Tied to Oregon Standoff Group Arrested on Weapons Charges

A man who described himself as an "embedded reporter" during the armed takeover of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge was arrested Friday on federal weapons charges.
Michael Emry, 54, who recently moved to John Day from Boise, was arrested after federal agents found a fully automatic .50-caliber machine gun in his trailer.
"EMRY admitted that he took the M2 from the shop where he works in Idaho about a month and a half ago," FBI Special Agent Miguel Perez wrote in court papers.

Emry took the gun without the store owner's knowledge, according to court papers.
"Prior to bringing it to Oregon, EMRY obliterated the serial number," Perez wrote.

Emry is scheduled to appear in Federal Court on Monday.
He had operated a website, The Voice of Idaho, and broadcast from Burns during the takeover.
He described himself as being "embedded" with the militia group. 3% of Idaho.
