Man Tries to Elude Police, Fails, is Arrested
Police say they have arrested a man who was threatening his ex-girlfriend.

It was not a good morning for Tyler Nolan Beasley, 23.
His ex-girlfriend called Portland Police to let them know that Beasley was threatening her, that he damaged a car at her home, and had texted to say he was on his way back.
Officers waited a safe distance from the woman's home on the 6600 block of NE Broadway.

Beasley arrived in a car driven by another woman. He saw the police, got back in the car and the woman drove away.
They did not get far.

Police stopped them at NE 67 Avenue and Tillamook Street.
Beasley started to run away but jumped back into the car, getting into the backseat.
Unfortunately for him, the woman got out of the car.
He jumped into the front seat, threw the car into reverse, and pushed the gas pedal with his hands. He backed right into one of the police cars.
As police took him into custody, he struggled and ended up with some cuts on his face (see the mug shot).
No officers were injured. The police car was only slightly damaged.
Beasley was booked on charges including criminal mischief and resisting arrest.
