Man Who Abused Foster Kids Sentenced to 17 Years in Prison

Jared White abused four foster children cared for by his grandmother while he lived with her.

A man who admitted to abusing four children under the foster care of his grandmother while he lived in her home was sentenced Tuesday to 17 years in prison.

Jared White abused the children between 2007 and 2012. The youngest was five. The oldest was 14-years-old.

Officials were learned of the abuse when one of the children was placed in another home and came forward with the allegations.

When White was arrested in February, officials were concerned that there might have been other victims out there because he also taught at the Multnomah Education Service District Outdoor School.

No other victims ever came forward.

He pleaded guilty in September.
