Man Whose Leg Was Severed by Garbage Truck

Scott Busch sued Allied Waste Services. He won.

Scott Busch had the right of way when he was crossing Southwest Morrison and Fifth the morning of March 16, 2015.

It was 6 a.m. and he was headed to his job at U.S. Bank.

As he crossed the street, a garbage truck belonging to Allied Waste Services made an illegal turn, crashing into Busch, severing his left leg.

Busch sued and on Friday, a jury in Multnomah County Court awarded him $13.5 million - $3 million for medical and other expenses and $10.5 million for pain suffering.

They also awarded Busch's wife $400,000.
