Mississippi Law Brings Multnomah County Ban on Travel
Multnomah County Chair Deborah Kafoury says no county travel to Mississippi.

No official travel to Mississippi.
That's the word from Multnomah County Chairwoman Deborah Kafoury in response to a new law that she says discriminates against the LGBT community.
"It's disappointing to see yet another state -- Mississippi -- legalizing discrimination against the LGBT community. I want to be clear that the the message from Multnomah County residents to such legislation is a resounding 'No," she said.

"We won't stand by and tolerate discrimination against any of our community members. That's why I am banning any publicly funded employee travel to Mississippi until it repeals this discriminatory law."
On Tuesday, Oregon Governor Kate Brown, while condemning Mississippi's law and others like it, stopped short of banning travel there.
