Multnomah County Election Results 2017
Bonds for Portland Community College and the Hillsboro School District are the big items on the ballot this election cycle.

Multnomah County votes Nov. 7, 2017:
Portland Community College — Measure 26-196:
8:15 p.m.: 79,218 votes
- 60 percent 'Yes'
- 39 percent 'No'
9:30 p.m.: 93,323 votes

- 62 percent 'Yes'
- 38 percent 'No'
12 a.m.: 108,054 votes
- 63 percent 'Yes'
- 36 percent 'No'
Portland Community College officials have asked for the county to maintain the current tax rate of 40-cents per $1,000 of assessed value by issuing $185 million in bonds to construct job training space, improve and enhance classroom spaces, improve student safety, and enhance available technology at the school.

If approved, the state would match $8 million to absorb costs to taxpayers.

Hillsboro School District — Measure 34-278:
8:15 p.m.: 1 vote
- 100 percent 'Yes'
- 0 percent 'No'
Hillsboro School District officials have requested voter approval of $408 million in bonds to:
- Purchase land to expand schools' capacities and build new or replace old facilities, like Brookwood Elementary;
- Improve safety at Hillsboro schools by upgrading seismic resilience and security;
- Improve sidewalks and other infrastructure, including roofs, windows, and portable classroom replacements; and
- Repair sports and recreational facilities.
If approved by voters, the current tax rate is not expected to increase over the current level of $2.24 per $1,000 of assessed value, and the state will provide $6 million in matching funds to help defray costs to taxpayers.
