The Naked Truth: Burglar Who Stripped and Got in Bed With Victim Gets Six Years

Richard Defeudis pleaded guilty. He was arrested after pulling a knife on a victim who then pulled a gun from under his bed.

You know the old line about don't bring a knife to a gun fight?

It's kind of what did Richard Defeudis in.

Last October, he broke into a home on the 2700 block of Northwest Quimby Street in Northwest Portland.

He undressed and, with knife in hand, lay down on top of the man who lived in the home.

"I'm not mad at you, please call 911," Defeudis told his victim, kissing him on the lips.

The man was less than thrilled and tried to get Defeudis to put down the knife.

When Defeudis switched the knife from one hand to the other, the man grabbed a gun from under his bed and chased Defeudis from the home, even firing a shot into a tree as Defeudis fled.

Defeudis was caught nearby in an empty house.

He admitted entering the home through an unlocked door and looking for electronics to sell.

Defeudis told police he regularly used heroin and meth and that evil spirits told him to do bad things.

He pleaded guilty to sex abuse and burglary and was sentenced to 75 months in jail.
