New Census Numbers Show Multnomah County Growing

Continues to be Oregon's largest county

New numbers out from the Census Bureau have Multnomah County continuing to be Oregon's most populous county with 790,294 people.

That's a 1.6 percent growth over the year before.

Most of the county's population growth was fueled by people moving in.

Of the 12,414 people who moved to Multnomah between 2014 and 2015, 3,050 moved from overseas and 5,273 moved from other parts of the United States.

It's a trend that has been developing over the past several years.

From 2010-2015, of the 55,105 people who became residents of Multnomah County, 33,971 moved there (as opposed to being born there)

Overall, the state 's population kept growing There are now more than four million people who call themselves Oregonian.

Oregon's growth was the ninth largest by percent n the country.

Of the state's 36 counties, 29 saw their population grow.

The largest percentage increase was in Crook County, which saw 2.8 percent bump in population followed by Washington County, which grew by 2 percent/

Gliiliam County saw the biggest percentage drop in population. Of the 1,924 people who lived there in 2014, 3.4 percent moved out.
