A 90-year-old man has been arrested for killing a pedestrian. Edmond Balding was arrested Thursday at his home in connection with the March death of Amber Michelle Lapine. Police had responded to the intersection of Northeast 117th Avenue and Glisan Street after the report of a pedestrian being struck. They found Lapine with traumatic injuries. She was transported a hospital but died from her injuries nine days later. While Balding stayed at the scene and appeared to cooperate with investigators, police say they eventually determined he had not been truthful about the circumstances of the crash. Police have not elaborated on how Balding was not truthful.
