Oregon Senator Dennis Linthicum Inveighs Against Majority Rule

Oregon Republican state senator and senate whip leading his MIA colleagues in a legislative walkabout to Idaho, Dennis Linthicum, has, not surprisingly and self-servingly, overlooked his important and relevant connection to and support for President Trump and Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell. Linthicum conveniently omits mentioning his obeisance to the leader of the Republican/Trumpian party, Donald Trump and his soulless legislative guard dog, Mitch McConnell.

Displaying a complete disconnect from the reality of the Republican controlled U.S Senate, Linthicum writes, “While in the minority, Republicans [Substitute Democrats], like myself, have sound fiscal and legitimate policy perspectives, and like all minorities, we deserve to be heard. But that has not been the case this legislative session when my colleagues and I have been run over and bullied time and time again! Our ideas are ignored, and our voices remain muted.” Really? But what precedent could there be for such behavior?

Linthicum ends his polemic with, “Thank you, for supporting the “Oregon 11,” as we stand for Liberty, freedom, sound policy, and fiscal responsibility!” That translates into:

Liberty and freedom for those Americans who have the Trumpian approved skin color, ethnic background, sexual orientation, gender, religion, no preexisting health conditions and wear MAGA hats.

Sound policy based on lying to every American about everything.

Fiscal responsibility of tax cuts that expand the deficit and transfer wealth to the richest corporations and individuals including Donald Trump and his family despite the Emoluments clause of our Constitution.

Linthicum’s finale is always, “Remember, if we don't stand for rural-Oregon values and common sense - No one will!” Republican Linthicum stands for and with an authoritarian, immoral, liar who holds the law in contempt and an evil legislative gatekeeper. These are not the values of Oregonians, regardless of where they live.

Unless and until Republican state senator Dennis Linthicum and his gang of recalcitrant rogues publicly denounce Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell they will continue to have NO CREDIBILITY in the Oregon legislature and should consider moving permanently to Idaho.
