Oregon Standoff Latest: Another Day, Another Guilty Plea

Another day, another guilty plea.
On Wednesday, Travis Cox became the ninth person to plead guilty in connection with the 41-day armed takeover of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge.
Appearing before Federal Judge Anna Brown in Portland, Cox pleaded guilty to conspiring to use intimidation to prevent federal employees from doing their work.

There are still 17 people charged - the most notable of which are Ammon Bundy and his brother, Ryan.

Cox was the second defendant in as many days to plead guilty. On Tuesday, Ryan Payne - a close associate of Ammon Bundy's pleaded guilty.
The rest are scheduled to go on trial on September 7th.
When Cox is sentenced in December, he is expected to receive eight months home detention - with credit for two months he spent in jail after his arrest.
Cox - whom prosecutors have pictures of while armed and performing guard duty at the refuge - left Malheur on January 26th, the same day that the Bundys and others were arrested as they headed to a community meeting in John Day.
Cox turned himself into a Utah sheriff's office in April.
In June, he was released to the custody of his mother in Bend.
