Oregon Winemakers Crossover Into Cannabis Industry

Wine-weed parties are now a thing in Oregon, with some winemakers considering how to expand their business and appeal to a younger crowd.

JACKSONVILLE, OR — While winemaking in Oregon has been steadily on the rise for past three decades, legalized cannabis growing is still a relatively new thing in the state. But as cannabis production becomes more widely recognized as a legitimate business venture, some winemakers have taken the initiative to combine the pair — or switch industries altogether.

Associated Press reporter Gillian Flaccus on Thursday shared a story about the cannabis crop crossover, and how winemakers along the Oregon-California border are capitalizing on the growing cannabis industry.
