Yo, what up, my fellow beings? It's the middle of the week and that means it's practically the weekend. Let's catch up on what's happening.
First, today's weather: More sun than clouds today, but still a little bit of both. The high temp will be 90, as Portland starts to heat up for the next few days.

- How much can police care about a city they don't even live in? Data from a public records request shows that only about 18% of Portland police officers live in Portland. If fact, approximately 21% of them don't even live in Oregon. (The Portland Mercury)
- The city of Portland and the Portland Police Association are entering into closed door mediation today. Up for discussion are 40 different unresolved issues, including body cameras and the Independent Police Review, which Portland residents voted to dissolve. (Willamette Week)
- Desperate for solutions to the state's homeless problem, Oregon is looking for creative ideas. One such idea is purchasing former motels and turning them into emergency shelters. This move has created 900 new units across the state. (OPB)
- In the midst of continued vandalism and protests, the Portland Police Association has moved its headquarters out of Portland city limits and next door to Milwaukie. It is now just off of Highway 224, near Bob's Red Mill and Dave's Killer Bread. (KATU)
- Health officials in Multnomah County are recommending that people once again wear masks in all indoor public spaces. This is in response to the more contagious delta variant of COVID-19. Eight counties in Western Washington are also recommending people wear masks in public indoor settings as are officials in Los Angeles County and San Francisco Bay Area counties. (The Columbian)

- Doesn't yoga in the park sound nice? If you said yes, get yourself down to Sellwood Park for some breathwork, meditation and, of course, yoga. The class is free, but donations are appreciated. Bring your own water and a mat or towel. 6:00 - 7:00 PM.
- Tita's food cart at the Mercado in SE Portland is celebrating Peruvian Independence Day today. There will be Peruvian tamales, drink specials and music from Peruvian singer Nancy Ortiz. 4:00 - 7:00 PM.
- There's a beer tasting event at The Growler Guys in SW Portland. Drew from Fort George Brewing will be there, sharing some incredible beers, including the 2021 3-Way and 2021 3-Way NZ Version. 5:00 PM.
- Trivia night used to be a big deal here in Portland, but then the pandemic hit and those times seem far away. But tonight they're back at Funhouse Brews in North Portland. Tonight's theme - Geography! The fun starts at 7:30 PM.
- Pizza Schmizza on NW 21st Ave has a Living Room Sessions music series and tonight they're featuring Jacob Westfall. If pizza and live music isn't enough to get you out the door, they're also offering $1 off all whiskeys. Save me a seat! 8:00 PM.
