A person was struck and killed by a freight train in Northeast Portland.It happened around 2:40 Saturday afternoon.The train stopped around 82nd Avenue and Halsey Street.The operator of the train, which was operated by Union Pacific, stopped and called for help.Portland Police say that he cooperated with the investigation.The sex, age, and identity of the deceased will be determined by the Multnomah County Medical Examiner.
