Pokemon Go Leads to Traffic Safety Campaign

Oregon Department of Transportation builds campaign about paying attention on the popular game.

Traffic safety may not be a game but the Oregon Department of Transportation recognizes a good opportunity.

"ODOT created these Pokémon-like characters to "poké" fun at safety but in a way that brings attention to the importance of paying attention," the department said in launching their "Safetymon Go" campaign.

The department has made a series of 10 safety posters that features characters like Bulbasafety who reminds people to follow the rules of the road and Safetoise who tells everyone to look left right left before crossing a street or parking lot.
