Police Say Drunk Driver Got Car Stuck on MAX Tracks
A crane was needed to move her car.
A drunk driver got her car stuck on the MAX tracks early Thursday morning - causing disruptions as a crane was needed to get her vehicle out of harm's way.
Portland Police say that 24-year-old Aleksandra Nowak was driving her 2005 Subaru Forrester around 3:30 Thursday morning when she she drove it on to the tracks around Northeast 82nd and Halsey. They say she probably entered the rail line at the Gateway Transit Center.
When police arrived, they say that they found Nowak sitting on the platform.

Her car had been so badly damaged from having been driven on the tracks that a crane was needed to remove her Subaru from the tracks.
The morning commute was disrupted as a result.

Nowak was arrested and booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants (DUII), Reckless Driving and Criminal Mischief in the First Degree.
