- Portland Police shot a man in the Lloyd District Thursday night. They responded to calls of a fight happening and saw a man stabbing another. They shot the armed man who was taken by ambulance, but pronounced dead at the hospital. A group of protesters gathered at the scene who threw objects at the police. (KPTV)
- It's official! Ownership of 82nd Ave. has been transferred to the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) and with that comes $80 million in federal rescue funds. Along with this will come $105 million from the Oregon Department of Transportation and PBOT. The funds will be used for paving and safety upgrades. (Bike Portland)
- Farmers' Markets in the Portland Metro region are shifting their hours in response to the record breaking heat expected this weekend. Many markets are shifting their times to start, and end, an hour earlier than the usual times. If you are planning on shopping at your favorite Farmers' Market, check online to see updated times. - Gov. Kate Brown announced on Friday that the state will reopen on Wednesday, June 30th. It was previously thought that the state would only reopen once 70% of the population has been vaccinated, but this new statement says that, even if the 70% vaccination target has not been reached, the state will still reopen. - Local grocers are gathering signatures to get two initiatives on the ballot that would allow them to sell hard spirits. Currently, sales of hard spirits are restricted to liquor stores licensed by the Oregon Liquor Control Commission, but the state agency has recently started to loosen restrictions by allowing several Portland-area Walmarts to sell the chain's house brand of alcohol. - There will be an online play today, as part of the Vanport Mosaic Festival. OFELIO: A Borderline Story is the story of a former border patrol guard who is a new father and haunted by the children he detained at the border. - Today is the kick-off of the Good in the Hood Festival, a multicultural music festival that will be held online. There will be an online raffle, a virtual food court and a virtual parade. (Good in the Hood)

- Save the date! The Earl Blumenauer Pedestrian and Bicycle Bridge will be installed on the weekend of July 9th. This means both eastbound and westbound traffic for I-84 will be closed from 10:00 PM Friday, July 9th to 5:00 AM Monday, July 12th. You've been warned.
