1. It's July so that means it's time for the Portland Highland Games. Celebrate the best Scottish athletic events from the caber toss to the sheaf toss (Google them). 2. Follow the Yellow Brick Road to the Sheraton Portland Airport Hotel this weekend. The 52nd Annual OzCon is coming to Portland. The three-day event celebrating L. Frank Baum and the land of Oz has a treasure hunt, dealers room, a research table, and a chance for people to share their own stories and treasures. 4. Believe it or not, this is a weekend to be thankful for Ronald Reagan. In 1984 he signed a proclamation making July National Ice Cream Month and the third Sunday of every July National Ice Cream Day. Salt and Straw - a Portland favorite - goes big on this day.
