Portland 5 Things to Do This Weekend

Louis C.K. performs. The Dog Show is here. And did someone say chocolate?

1. On a good day it's hard to resist a celebration of chocolate but when you throw in the fact that it's a fundraiser for the World Forestry Center - well, what's not to like. This weekend is the annual ChocolateFest, produced by and for the benefit of the World Forestry Center. As the center says, the show was created to not only "expose visitors to wonderful chocolate products, but educate about the tropical cacao tree and how chocolate is made from bean to bar." It runs Friday through Sunday at the Oregon Convention Center. Head here for moreinformation.

2. Get your protest on. The Women's March of Portland gets underway at Noon at Waterfront Park. If the march's Facebook page is accurate, there will be nearly 40,000 people there. The march winds for about two miles through the streets and should wind up around 4:00.

3. And what better way to unwind from a day of protest than seeing comedian Louis C.K. perform at the Moda Center? While sold out, tickets may still appear on when on the popular resale outlets.

4. You won't be barking up the wrong tree if you're a dog lover and head to the Portland Expo Center between now and Sunday. It's the annual Rose City Classic Dog Show. Check out rosecityclassic.org for more information.

5. Now that the snow and ice are pretty much gone, why not drive down to Newberg for the 12th Annual Oregon Truffle Festival. Tastings and lectures and demonstrations. A celebration of that tasty fungus among us. www.oregontrufflefestival.com for more information.
