Portland Activist Accused of Sex Crimes

Micah Rhodes, one of the leaders of Portland's Resistance, is accused of sexual contact with a minor.

A man who has been a leader of Portland's Resistance, the activist movement responsible for organizing several recent protests, is charged with sex abuse.

The charges against 23-year-old Micah Rhodes date to 2015 and involve him having sex with a 17-year-old male in Gresham and Troutdale.

The charges were first reported by KOIN News.

Rhodes was on parole for sex abuse and sodomy at the time of the incidents.

Court documents indicate that when Rhodes was interviewed by police last week, he admitted to having met the teen on the Grindr app and that the teen has told him he was 17-years-old.

Rhodes admitted to police that they had sex in Troutdale.

He has been in jail since January 25 when he was arrested during protests in downtown Portland.
