Portland Business News - Radisson Hotel Coming Downtown

Hotel will take over first eight floors of 19-story building that will be known as the Broadway Tower.

A 19-story building be built in downtown Portland will have a Radisson Hotel as its major tenant.

The deal was announced in a press release from Radisson's parent company, Carlson Resider.

"We are excited to bring Radisson RED to the West Coast," said an official of Carlson Resider Hotel Group, Javier Rosenberg.

There are several things the hotel will do differently than traditional hotels including not having a front desk.

The hotel will have 180 guest rooms and, according to the release, "Scandinavian design highlighted by effiecnet, modern yet functional furniture pieces like the picnic table that replaces the traditional desk."

The hotel will take the first eight floors of the 19-story building, which will be known as the Broadway Building.

It is scheduled to open in two years.
