Portland Crime: Armed Felon Busted

The Portland Police Bureau's Gang Enforcement Team made a traffic stop late Thursday night and ended up busting a felon with a stolen gun.

Police say that officers stopped a 2005 Pontiac GTO because of an expired registration.

The driver gave officers permission to search the car.

Officers felt as if the passenger, Marlon jermaine Jeffries, was acting like he might "have been concealing something in his waistband," police say.

They found a loaded handgun in his waistband.

Turns out the handgun was stolen.

Also turns out that Jeffries is a convicted felon who is not allowed to possess a firearm.

He was booked on weapons charges.

A grand jury will hear the case, which could result in more charges.
