Portland Crime: Bank Robbery Foiled, Suspect Arrested

Suspect tried to escape by taxi. It did not go well.

Portland Police say that they arrested someone who tried to rob a bank Wednesday afternoon.

It happened outside the Key Bank at 41st and Hawthorne in Southeast Portland around 12:30.

Police responded to the Key Bank where they were given a description of the suspect who had said he had a gun.

Officers saw the man in the back of a taxi about two blocks away. they stopped the cab and arrested the suspect without incident.
