Portland Developer Charges City in Breach of Contract
Jordan Schnitzer demands $1.3 million from the city, says report

Jordan Schnitzer's battle with Portland over the future of waterfront property he wants to develop is taking a new turn as he accuses the city of being in breach of contract.
The Oregonian reports that the developer wants $1.3 million from the city because they have refused to sell him the Centennial Mills property along the waterfront.
The paper quotes an email from Schnitzer's lawyer saying he is disappointed by how his client was treated by the city in "light of the time and financial resources" Schnitzer has committed to the process.

The city's development cooperation denies Schnitzer is owed any money.
The paper says that Schnitzer doesn't want to have repay a $350,000 loan - and that request is likely to be approved. The dispute, the paper says, lies in $950,000 he wants reimbursed for money his company spent while working on the project.
