Portland Fire & Rescue: Three Transported To Local Hospital From House Fire Overnight

Ambulances were called to transport the residents who had smoke inhalation injuries.

At 12:43 this morning crews were called to a house fire at 7007 N Amherst St. Initial reports were that two residents had jumped off the second floor.

On arrival two residents were out front and crews found heavy fire involving a car, the first floor and extending to the second. Multiple fire attack hose lines were stretched interior and exterior to fight the fire. Truck crews began to search the home and initiate ventilation operations on the roof. Fire was brought under control in 30 minutes.

Ambulances were called to transport the residents who had smoke inhalation injuries. An additional ambulance was dispatched to transport a firefighter who had heat exhaustion. Cause is under investigation.
