Portland Man Charged With Attempted Murder For May Bar Shooting

An indictment says that Samuel Mason shot a man in Rachel's Bar and Grill on Southeast Division. Officials say it was gang-related.

PORTLAND, OR – A Portland man is charged with trying to kill a member of a rival gang in a shooting last May. The shooting happened at Rachel's Bar and Grill on Southeast Division by 125th Avenue.

A six-count indictment charges 40-year-old Samuel Mason with shooting another man during an argument. The Multnomah County District Attorney's Office says that the two men are members of rival gangs.

He was eventually detained in Arkansas and returned to Portland.

Mason will next appear in court on Nov. 30.
