Portland Man Charged With Tigard Robberies May Be Linked to Other Crimes

Tigard Police believe they have one half of a robbery team.

A 54-year-old Portland man is under arrest in connection with two robberies in Tigard.

Police there say that they took Robert Michael Chambers in connection with two robberies late last month.

The first one happened around 8:00 a.m. at the Dotty's Deli.

The second was the following morning at the Tigard Hilton Double Tree Hotel on SW Local Street.

In both cases, police says two armed men - one younger and white and the other older and black demanded money.

Since the second incident, Tigard police, working with police in other Portland metro areas including Portland and Beaverton, have been looking through surveillance pictures in other similar robberies.

They are also hunting for the second suspect.
