A 46-year-old man from Portland died early Thursday morning when his Nissan struck a ditch and rolled over several times. The Washington County Sheriff's Office says the driver was speeding and failed to negotiate a turn.The sheriff's office says that Christopher Smith was thrown from the car as it rolled over. He died at the scene.An off-duty officer from Hillsboro came upon the crash around 6:00 Thursday morning and called it in.
