Portland Mayoral Race: New Poll Gives Wheeler a Big Lead

A new poll by KATU News has Ted Wheeler up by 30 points. But almost as many as support him are undecided.

A new poll by KATU News has Oregon State Treasurer Ted Wheeler up by 30 points over the man perceived to be his chief rival in the race for mayor.

According to the poll, 38 percent said they would support Wheeler compared to eight percent who say they will vote for Multnomah County Commissioner Jules Bailey.

There are 13 other candidates in the race.

If no candidate gets more than 50 percent in the May 17 primary, the top two candidates will be in a runoff.

The poll said 31 percent are still undecided.
