Portland Mayor's Race: Deborah Kafoury Endorses Jules Bailey

Jules Bailey got a big lift in his campaign for mayor Wednesday - the endorsement of Multnomah County Chairwoman Deborah Kafoury.

"I’ve seen firsthand his leadership to find solutions to our housing crisis and to make Portland affordable," said Kafoury, who serves with Bailey on the County Commission.

"As Mayor, he’s pledged to join me in cutting homelessness in half by 2018. I know he’ll succeed because he already has."

While there is a fairly crowded field for the May 17 primary with about a dozen candidates, Bailey - along with State Treasurer Ted Wheeler - is considered one of the front runners.
