Portland Opera Brings Back Popular Highlights Concert: Big Night

Portland Opera will offer a concert of opera and Broadway music classics on Saturday, April 8

Back from a three-year hiatus, Portland Opera’s celebratory Big Night concert will take place on April 8 in the Keller Auditorium. The popular highlights concert—returning for the fourth time—features the rare treat of seeing soloists, orchestra, and chorus all perform on stage together as they showcase some of the biggest and best opera arias, duets, and choral pieces, in addition to timeless musical classics.

“We are thrilled to be bringing back this hugely popular event as we celebrate the first performance of the season at the Keller Auditorium,” says General Director Christopher Mattaliano. “It is an evening that promises to delight the audience with great music, sung by great voices.”

Portland Opera’s Music Director George Manahan and the orchestra will be on the stage, along with its celebrated opera chorus. They’ll be joined by international guest stars performing selections from the most popular operas of Puccini, Mozart, Verdi, and Wagner, in addition to classic Broadway tunes from shows including West Side Story and Into the Woods.
