Portland Parks Remain Closed Because of Storm Damage
Days of rain have left fields in rough shape.
Days of rain and wind have left parks throughout Portland in rough shape and many fields will remain off limits at least through Monday, The parks department says the decision was made based on safety concerns and saturated conditions.
The city owned athletic and ball fields were originally closed over the weekend because of the storms. The decision to extend the closure was made Monday morning.
The closure does not include synthetic turf fields which are designed for all-weather play.
