Portland Pickles Open Retail Store, Event Space

The Pickle Jar will be the team's flagship store, while also hosting art shows, screenings and live music on the weekend.

PORTLAND, OR —The Portland Pickles collegiate wood-bat baseball team announced Monday the opening of The Pickle Jar, a new retail store that also will hold events like art shows, screenings and live music.

Located at 130 SW Taylor St., the Pickle Jar the will celebrate its Grand Opening on Saturday.

According to team executives, The Pickle Jar will serve as the official flagship retail store for the Pickles —who play their home games at Walker Stadium in Lents Park — and will sell merchandise currently available on the team's website and new exclusive, limited-edition product drops.

On weekends, the venue will host groundbreaking, cultural programs and community-driven events for guests 21 and over, the team said.

The mission of The Pickle Jar, according to team executives, is to support downtown Portland and engage the Pickles community by bringing creative people, experiences and unique retail products back to downtown.

"The Pickles are committed to helping build back downtown Portland and revive our creative community," said Alan Miller, owner and operating partner of the Portland Pickles and founder of COLLiDE sport. "We want to show Portland the same love and support they've shown us (since the team began in 2015).

"With the opening of The Pickle Jar, we want to not only give fans a permanent place to get the latest greatest merch, but to also bring the community back together through baseball, beer, cultural events and much more."

According to the Pickles, the regular operating hours for the Pickle Jar's Retail Store will be Tuesday through Sunday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Special events, which are for customers 21 and over, will take place on select Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Earlier this month, the Pickles announced their schedule for the 2022 season, when they will play 40 games at home.

The Pickles will play home exhibition games on May 28, 29 and 30, before their regular-season opener on May 31 against the Nanaimo NightOwls.
