Portland Police Arrest Man Already in Custody at Multnomah County Jail
Michael Lee Williams was in the Multnomah County Jail for other alleged crimes when Portland police charged him for a stabbing on May 8.

PORTLAND, OR — A man who Portland police previously arrested for other charges — and who was already in custody at the Multnomah County Jail — was charged Thursday night for the May 8 stabbing that put 37-year-old Jacob Pedro Shroyer in the hospital with life-threatening injuries, police officials said Friday.
On May 11, Michael Lee Williams, 33, was charged with attempted murder, assault, and unlawful use of a weapon for the May 8 stabbing of Shroyer at the Pacific Tower Apartments, 333 N.W. Fourth Ave. in Northwest Portland. Williams was already in custody for a May 9 arrest that resulted in several charges, including robbery, criminal mischief, theft, and disorderly conduct. His bail has been set at more than $500,000.
Portland police located Shroyer at the Pacific Tower Apartment around 10:30 p.m. May 8 after he'd been stabbed multiple times, police said. Shroyer is still in critical condition at the hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.
