Portland Police Arrest Man in Carjacking Probe
Arrest comes after carjacker led police on a high-speed chase.

Portland Police have one person in custody after an early morning high-speed chase looking for a carjacker. The incident started just before 4 a.m. around Southeast 72nd Avenue and Lexington Street.
Police say that they had responded to a report of a carjacking there - a man with a gun and knife had stolen a white Subaru Forester.

The stolen was car spotted in the area and led officers on a chase on northbound I-205 to westbound I-84.
The suspect crashed east of 74th Avenue and ran from the car. He then jumped down to the MAX track just north of the freeway.

Police have not given any details on where the suspect was found - just that a suspect has been detained and the robbery detectives are continuing their investigation.
No gun or knife has yet been recovered.
