(UPDATED) Portland Police Ask Public to Help Find Sammie Lee West Sr.

West was last seen near the Plaid Pantry by North Going Street and North Interstate Avenue.

(UPDATED) Portland police said Monday that West has been safely located and is no longer considered a missing person.

PORTLAND, OR – Portland police are searching for Sammie Lee West Sr. and they’re asking for the public’s help.

West is a 65-year-old black male, 6-foot 1-inch and 210 pounds. He is also homeless, police said.

West was last seen near the Plaid Pantry at North Going Street and North Interstate Avenue by his daughter. West reportedly contacts his daughter regularly, but she hasn’t seen him since March 15, police said.

Anyone who believes they see West is encouraged to call 911. Anyone with general information about West that may help officers and his daughter find him can call Det. Lori Fonken at 503-823-1081, or email lori.fonken@portlandoregon.gov.
