Portland Police Investigate Two Fatal Crashes on Division
There have now been 40 traffic-related fatalities in Portland this year.

Two fatal crashes on Division Street have brought the number of traffic-related fatalities in Portland this year to 40.
The first one occurred just before 7:00 p.m. at the intersection of 158th Avenue. The driver stayed at the scene and was cooperative. The pedestrian was crossing the street but it's not yet known if the person was in the crosswalk.
The second crash happened around 9:00 p.m. at Division and 87th Avenue.

Roghzhao Zhang, a 65-year-old employee of a nearby restaurant, was walking home from work when he stepped into the street about half a block from the crosswalk.
A car driven by 19-year-old Ryan Michael Moore of Southeast Portland struck Zhang, killing him.

Moore, who stayed at the scene and cooperated with officers, showed no signs of impairment. Officers also found no evidence of distracted driving.
The case will eventually be presented to the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office for review.
