Man Who Kept Portland Police at Bay Now in Custody
The man is being brought to a hospital to be checked out.

A man who barricaded himself in a garage at a home near Southeast 127th and Rhone is now in custody. He was brought to a hospital to be checked out.
The man kept police at bay for several hours necessitating Portland Police calling out their Special Emergency Reaction and Crisis Negotiation teams to assist officers from the East Precinct.
The special units were called when a man threatened fire crews who had responded to a report of a fire. The original 911 call came from the owners of the home. They know the man and reported he was acting erratically.
