According to police reports, at 11:19 p.m. Sunday, a Portland police officer was driving to a call for service —in a vehicle with lights and siren activated —when the vehicle driven by Harvey was leaving a parking to in the 8800 block of Northeast Sandy Boulevard.
Harvey attempted to cross all lanes in order to head west on Northeast Prescott Street, according to police, when the collision occurred. The police vehicle continued down Northeast Sandy Street and stuck a utility pole, before coming to a rest, authorities said.
During the crash investigation, officers were talking with witnesses on the sidewalk in front of a residence, when an irate driver —later identified as Dillon —drove his car into the group of six people, which included three officers and three community members.
Dillon's car struck one officer, while the other people jumped out of the way, police said. The bureau did not say the officer suffered any injuries.
According to police reports, Dillon was uncooperative when officers told him he was under arrest. A brief struggled ensued, and an electronic control weapon (taser) was used against the Dillon.
