Portland Weather: Winter Storm Warning Over the Cascades and Rain Everywhere Else

It's November and if you thought you would have a chance to dry out after last week's epic rain, you're wrong. Sorry.

If you're reading this and it's not yet late Monday afternoon, there's a good chance that it is raining. And if you're anywhere near the Cascades, replace raining with snowing.

For those who had been hoping for a chance to dry out after last week's epic rain when the Portland area rainfall was measured in inches - the city received nearly five percent of its annual rainfall in a day - you're going to be disappointed.

Monday should bring more rain to the area with storms being heavy at times before beginning to taper off in the late afternoon.

Up in the Cascades, there will also be large amounts of precipitation - snow.

The National Weather Service says that snow levels will be between 3,000 and 4,000 feet though Monday with up to two feet of snow expected to fall. They add that with wind gusts reaching up to 30 miles per hour and blowing the snow around, visibility will be reduced.
