Portland Woman Honored for Commitment to Trees
Catherine Mushel is second recipient of the Maynad Drawson Memorial Award

Catherine Mushel of Portland will be the second person to receive the Maynard Drawson Memorial Award given out by Oregon Travel Experience and the Oregon Heritage Tree Committee.
Dawson was a legendary promoter of the trees in the state and founded the Heritage Tree Program in the state.
Mushel has been working with Portland Friends of Trees and helped lead efforts against Dutch Elm Disease.

She eventually left her job as a landscape architect to work for Portland's urban Forestry Commission.
She will receive the honor as part of Portland's Arbor Day celebrations on April 30 in the South Park Blocks.
