President Obama Endorses Kate Brown for Governor
Brown gets some high-level help for her campaign.
While Kate Brown is leading in polls against Republican Bud Pierce in their race for governor, as they say, every bit helps. On Thursday's Brown's campaign unveiled an endorsement from President Obama.
"There are good things going on in America, that's especially in Oregon where my good friend, Kate Brown, is getting things done," he said in a minute-long taped message that she posted Thursday.
Obama cites Brown's having signed an increase in the minimum wage, her work on investing in career and technical eduxation, and the fact she has committed Oregon to be the first state to transition to renewable energy.

Brown became governor last year after John Kitzhaber abruptly stepped down. This is her first election for that office.
