  1. It’s nice to see that someone has faith in Portland. The tourism focused non-profit Travel Portland took out a full page ad in the Sunday edition of the New York Times. It addresses the recent travails that have thrust Portland into the national news and gives hope for the city’s future. Oh, stop it, I’m blushing! (KOIN)
  2. This gives drinking games a whole new meaning! Local brewery Great Notion is releasing a mobile game called The Climb. It already had a smart phone app, primarily to facilitate its home delivery service, but this latest edition has a game that will allow players to earn points and unlock perks and rewards.   3. Police are looking for the driver of an SUV that crashed into a Southeast Portland convenience store. The incident occurred Saturday night around 11:00 PM, the driver fled before officers arrived. Fortunately, no one was injured. (KATU)
  4. It’s wildfire season again and firefighters are battling a 6,700 acre blaze at Warm Springs near Mt. Hood. Current reports place it at 0% containment and high winds and low humidity have crews worried. Level 3 evacuation “Go Now” orders have been issued for some areas. (KPTV)
  5. The Proud Boys and far-left Antifa members clashed over the weekend in Oregon City. People in both groups carried guns, pepper spray and shields. Fighting became so intense that police declared it a riot, though there were no arrests. (KGW)

  1. Oregon Humanities is hosting a live-streamed discussion called "What is a Creative Priority?" The conversation will investigate the relevance of making art during times of personal, communal or global crisis. It will feature MOsley WOtta (Jason Graham), a Central Oregon artist currently finishing his tenure as the first Creative Laureate of Bend. 7:00 – 8:00 PM.
  2. The Lot at Zidell Yards has been bringing great outdoor entertainment to Portland during the pandemic and tonight is no different. They’ll be showing the 1989 comedy, Troop Beverly Hills, and a special performance by Plastic Cactus. Tickets sold as 2, 4 and 6-person seating pods. Doors open at 7:00 PM.
  3. Portland Tenants United will be holding a June Town Hall at Irving Park. Come meet with other renters' advocates to discuss the future of Portland housing in the wake of the upcoming end to the eviction moratorium. Pizza and refreshments will be provided. 6:00 – 8:30 PM.
  4. The Blind Ox Taphouse in NE Portland will host an open stage. Sign ups start at 5:30 PM, for 15-minute slots. They welcome singer-songwriters, musicians, poets, comedians and talent of all varieties. Minors welcome before 8:00 PM. Hosted by Cody Weathers. 6:00 - 9:00 PM.
  5. If your interests are strictly comedy, perhaps you’d prefer the open mic comedy night at the Firkin Tavern. Hosted by Kellie Irwin and Caroline Smith. Drinks and jokes! What could be better? 8:00 PM.

  1. If you need to beat the heat, all seven of Portland’s outdoor pools are open as of today. There are also four indoor pools. Safety measures include limited capacity, one-way traffic flow, increased cleaning protocols and additional hand sanitizing stations. Advance registration or reservations are required.   2. Local make-up artist Vivi Moss has been using her face as a canvas to make herself resemble her favorite beer can labels. Something of a beer brewer herself, her small kitchen has made it hard for her to brew, so she’s turned her creativity to honor various crafts beers. Read about her in Portland Monthly.
  3. If you’ve ever wondered what Palestinian Cuisine is like, look no further than the Jerusalem Rose Market. You can find apricot fruit leather from Syria, Jordanian Balady olives and Palestine’s Al’Ard black seed paste. Located on NE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.(Willamette Week)
