Rapist Found Guilty Except for Insanity Committed to State Hospital

Brady Hess will spend up to 40 years at the Oregon State Hospital.

He beat and raped a woman, holding her hostage for nearly a week.

On Tuesday, Brady Hess was in an Oregon City courtroom where he was sentenced to spend up to 40 years at the Oregon State Hospital after pleading guilty except for insanity to charges of kidnapping, rape, and sexual abuse.

The guilty plea and sentence was first reported by The Oregonian.

The charges stem from an incident in November, 2014 when Hess met a woman on a MAX train, invited her back to his apartment, and then attacked her.

He held her hostage for five days before she was able to run from his apartment, naked, and get help.
