Rocky Butte Sexual Assault Suspect Arrested, Police Say

Dominique Gonzales, 23, allegedly offered his victim a ride as she was walking in the rain early Thursday before taking her to Rocky Butte.

PORTLAND, OR — Police on Thursday arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman on Rocky Butte earlier in the morning.

Dominique Rogelio Gonzales, 23, was taken to the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of kidnapping and rape — both felonies. He is being held on $500,000 bail.

According to Portland police, the victim was walking in heavy rain to a home in the area of Northeast 82nd Avenue and Northeast Broadway Street shortly before 4:30 a.m. Oct. 19 when Gonzales allegedly saw her, pulled over and offered her a ride. Police note that Gonzales and the woman did not know each other.

Using witness information, police found Gonzales and his car at his home in the 7600-block of North Olin Avenue, roughly 10 miles from Rocky Butte, where he lives with his mother, grandmother, and two younger siblings, police said.
