Shooting in NE Portland: One Man Dead, Police say
(UPDATED) Portland police are searching for three suspects following a shooting that left one man dead near Menlo Park Elementary School.

PORTLAND, OR – Portland police are searching for three suspects following a shooting that left one man dead near Menlo Park Elementary School Saturday afternoon.
Shortly after 12:30 p.m. April 15, Portland Police Bureau East Precinct officers –– responding to a reported shooting –– found 38-year-old St. Helens resident Larry Edwin Van Dolah Jr. on the ground along Northeast 128th Avenue, at the southwest entrance to the recreational field at Menlo Park Elementary School, 12900 N.E. Glisan St.
Van Dolah died at the scene, police said. He was shot multiple times.

After the shooting, three men were reportedly seen running south on Northeast 128th Avenue, crossing East Burnside Street, police said. Witnesses reportedly described the suspects as three black males between ages 16 and 20 years old. All were wearing hooded sweatshirts and blue jeans, police said.
