Small Device Explodes at Portland Fred Meyer: Police
Arson investigators are working with bomb technicians on the case.

PORTLAND, OR - Authorities are investigating after a small explosion occurred in the aisle of a Foster Fred Meyer store in southeast Portland, police said.
Police and fire officials responded to the store just before noon on Saturday and were directed to aisle 13 where the explosion occurred among the small travel size items on display, police said. The Metropolitan Explosives Disposal Unit (MEDU) confirmed that the explosion was the result of a small explosive device.
Arson investigators are working closely with EDU bomb technicians.

No injuries were reported and there was no major damage to the store. The store remains open and there is no continued risk to the public, police said.
