Smoke by the Hawthorne Bridge Was Fire in Homeless Camp
The fire was extinguished quickly. No known injuries.

A large amount of smoke by the Hawthorne Bridge Thursday afternoon had people wondering.
It turns out a fire had broken out at the homeless camp that has been established under the bridge by the Willamette River.
Nearly two dozen people call the camp home.

The fire was quickly put out.
A reporter for the Oregonian tweeted out view of the smoke from across the river.
