Streaming Wars Meet Portland Wallets: Xfinity’s New Bundles Promise Big Savings

For Portland-area viewers juggling multiple streaming subscriptions, the monthly bill can add up quickly. A new offering from Comcast’s Xfinity aims to change that, bringing some of the biggest names in streaming together in one place, with potential savings of up to 45 percent.

Announced today, Xfinity’s expanded StreamSaver bundles now include heavy hitters like Netflix, Apple TV+, Peacock, and the Disney+, Hulu bundle, along with HBO Max. The result is what the company describes as the largest marketplace of premium streaming bundles available today.

For Portland viewers, many of whom have embraced streaming as their primary source of entertainment, the timing is notable. As subscription stacking becomes the norm, households are increasingly looking for ways to simplify both access and cost.

StreamSaver allows customers to mix and match three, four, or even five services into a single bundle, all managed through one bill. Instead of toggling between apps, passwords, and payment cycles, users can browse, compare, and subscribe through Xfinity’s StreamStore platform, accessible on TVs or online.

The appeal is clear in a city like Portland, where streaming is deeply embedded in daily life, from binge-watching prestige dramas to following global sports and indie films. With major titles spread across platforms, viewers often feel compelled to subscribe to multiple services just to keep up.

Xfinity executives say the goal is to reduce that friction.

“StreamSaver gives customers a smarter way to navigate today’s streaming landscape,” said Jon Gieselman, Comcast’s Chief Growth Officer, noting the combination of savings, simplicity and centralized discovery.

Beyond bundling, the platform also offers flexibility that may appeal to tech-savvy Portland consumers. Users can upgrade to ad-free tiers, transfer existing subscriptions, or add services à la carte—without leaving the ecosystem.

The launch also ties into broader changes in how people watch TV. Xfinity is pairing these bundles with enhanced viewing features, like 4K streaming, multiview options for sports fans, and integrated live TV packages. For many households, these hybrid models aim to recreate the convenience of traditional TV with the customization of streaming.

For Portlanders, where Xfinity high-speed internet access is widespread and streaming adoption is high, the biggest question may not be whether to stream, but how to do it more efficiently.
