Strong Support for Kate Brown while Measure 97 Support is Mixed Says New KGW/Oregonian Poll
Poll also says Hillary Clinton is expected to beat Donald Trump and half of Oregonians think the state is moving in the right direction.

Supporters of a proposed measure that would direct $3 billion per year to schools, health care, and senior citizens by imposing a 2.5 percent tax on companies that do more than $25 million in sales in Oregon have their work cut out for them, according to a new poll released Tuesday.
The poll - conducted by Riley Research Associates for KGW and The Oregonian - has Measure 97 being defeated by 47 percent to 46 percent. The results are within the margin of error, which is plus or minus 3.97 percent.
Governor Kate Brown - who is running for her first term after having been elevated after John Kitzhaber resigned - has a comfortable lead over her Republican challenger, Bud Pierce, 48-34.
